Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau casino, contains 150 one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of conveniences accompanying the casino, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
